Mr. Dilbeck was instrumental in having California become the first State to pass a AMT Day Resolution and is the man responsible for starting the campaign to have Charles E. Taylor placed proudly in aviation's history where he belongs.

AMTA Director Kenneth MacTiernan thanking all for attending the AMTA's event where the AMTA donated copies of the resolutions that California, City & County of San Diego and the City of Chula Vista passed proclaiming May 24th as Aviation Maintenance Technician Day. Attendees included AMTA Members from across the country, San Diego Police, U.S. Customs, U.S. Navy, F.A.A., and people with a love of aviation.

AMTA Director Ken MacTiernan explaining about the sacrifices the thousands of men and women in aviation make because of our profession. The students were not aware that maintenance is a 7/24 operation. Nor were they aware that holidays, weekends, birthdays, etc. are missed by these skilled craftsmen and women in order to keep aircraft safe to fly. After I met with these fine students they were better informed about Charles E. Taylor and the thousands of AMTs who are the "Faces Behind Safety".
